Hands of love weave comfort through our Prayer Shawl Ministry. Prayer shawls are a gift of love to those who are ill, suffering a loss or a crisis. We also make baby blankets when a child is born into the St. Andrew’s community. Gifts of Prayer Shawls and baby blankets have been given to SafePlace and local area Hospice.
People can create shawls in their homes or we can create a circle of crafters who meet at the church or other place. Completed shawls can be brought to the Pastoral Care Office. Please label your shawl so that those receiving your gift will know who has devoted their special talent and time to this ministry. Barbara Miller is our “go to” person for questions, ideas, suggestions and technical expertise. Another example of shawl ministry, plus lots of information, can be found at www.shawlministry.com (This is an independent site, and St. Andrew’s may not endorse all its content)
Compassionate caring and the love of handcrafting are combined into a prayerful ministry that reaches out to those in need of blessing and comfort. Please contact us if you are interested in being part of a Prayer Shawl Circle.
